A Prayer for SIL, Day 49

Lord, help me to let go and let you work in SIL at the pace and the way You choose. She is not changing the way I think she should, or as fast as I think she should. But she’s not mine to fix. She belongs to You. She answers to You. I release her, again, to You. Heal her. Teach her. Guide her. Convict her. Love her. I pray that she responds to You, cooperates with You, and seeks You above all else.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work) 2 Timothy 3:16 (17)

Jesus, I pray that You draw SIL to Your Word, that she craves it and feeds upon it every day. And while she does so, that You use it to teach, correct, and train her in righteousness.

In Your Hands,

A Prayer for SIL, Day 48

Lord, carry SIL in Your arms like a young lamb. You are the Good Shepherd – her shepherd. You know her and You know how to take care of her.

I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own and my own know me… The sheep hear his voice and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out… He goes before them and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. John 10:14, 3b, 4b

He will tend his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom. Isaiah 40:11a

Oh, save your people, and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever! Psalm 28:9

Jesus, I pray that SIL’s ears will be open to Your voice. May she hear You when You call her by name. May she follow You as You lead her. When she cannot walk, I pray that You carry her in Your bosom, and that You will be her shepherd forever.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 46

Lord, cover SIL with Your wings.

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. Psalm 91:3-4

Deliver SIL from the snares around her. From the ones created by the enemy, the ones created by her past, the ones created by her sin, and the ones created by her pride and self-centeredness. No matter how strong the snare, You are stronger. No matter how hidden the snare, You see it. May SIL find refuge under Your wings. May she be open to Your will. And may she find Your faithfulness to be shield and buckler. Keep her fully aware of Your presence and Your promises each day.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 45 4-15-26

Jesus, her attitude lately is exactly what Paul preached against. I pray that You speak to her, convict her when she strays from Your way.

Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight. Proverbs 2:20

A man of crooked heart does not discover good, and one with a dishonest tongue falls into calamity. Proverbs 17:20

Do not be conformed to this world  Romans 12:2a

Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Romans 6:1-2

Working together with him then we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain 2 Corinthians 6:1a

Lord, Your Word explains why she may be experiencing the problems that she is. I pray that You open her eyes to where she stands. She knows the difference between Your way and the world’s way, but somehow she’s not aware that she has strayed away from Your side. I pray that she cooperates with Your Spirit as You call her back to You. Convict her heart each time she lies or cheats or steals, including when she does so to herself. Lying to herself that Your conviction is not what it is or that what she does is not that bad, cheating herself of Your blessings, and stealing Your glory for the things You are doing. Lord, open her eyes and heart to the Truth found only in You.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 42

Lord, I lift up SIL to You. Only You know what she needs. I may think I do. She may think she does. But we can only guess. We can’t see things like You can. We trust You. Bring about the things that need to be addressed. Reveal the hidden things. Show her what You want her to see. Open her heart – or knock on it until she opens it to You – that You may heal her completely from the past as You dine together.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him , and he with me. Revelation 3:20

Do not be conformed, but be transformed… Romans 12:2a

Lead her to transform her thoughts. Put people, videos, commercials, etc. in front of her to tell her what You want her to know and what You want her to do. Lead her all the way to perfect health.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 41

Jesus, I lift SIL up to You again. Hold her in Your arms. Heal her scars and the hidden festering wounds that bind her. Fill her need to be loved with Your love. Give her the strength to act on the things she should or needs to do.

So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. Colossians 1:10-11

God, I pray that SIL will walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing to You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You. May she be strengthened with all power, according to Your glorious might. And may she endure with patience and joy.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 39

Sweet Jesus, continue to speak to SIL’s heart. Call her back when she starts to stray. Infuse her with motivation and energy to do the things she should. Thank You for all that You are doing in her. I pray she remains yielded to You and increasingly so as Your love penetrates her defenses and the scars and lies that keep her bound.

And we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Lord, as SIL gazes on You with an unveiled face, free her from the blindness that deception brings, and as she beholds Your glory, may she be transformed into that same image step by step. For this comes from Your Spirit who lives in her.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 37

Lord, I pray for SIL tonight. Minister to her while she sleeps. Stroke her tightly clenched fist so she can relax and let go to You the things she is grasping so tightly. Fill her dreams with your love so that she seeks it from You and not from wrong places. Fill the need in her to be loved so she is free to love others without demanding, expecting, or needing to be loved in return. Heal the pain in her heart, the scars from the past, and the fears for tomorrow. Lord, I pray that she casts her cares on to You – not so that she can live in denial but that she can live in the security of Your love.

Casting all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 6:7

A Prayer for SIL, Day 36

Dear Lord, gentle and meek, I pray that the way You lived while on earth, SIL will live now. Address the pride in her that defends and protects her ego from perceived threats. I pray that she will open her heart to You when You knock.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him and he with me. Revelation 3:20

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. Ephesians 3:17-18

Lord Jesus, I pray that You dwell in SIL’s heart through faith. That she is rooted and grounded in Your perfect love, and not the imperfect love of the world which shaped her love for herself and others. I pray that she may have power, together with all Your holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep Your love for her is.

A Prayer for SIL, Day 35

Lord, fill SIL with Your grace. As she looks at herself, may You speak reassuring words to her, that You love her more than she hates herself. Show her that her worth is in You. Heal her wounded heart.

“In him we live and move and have our being” Acts 17:28a

Reveal to SIL that her being – who she is – is found in You. And that she is so valuable that You died for her. That her worth is in what You did. Help her to ungrasp her hold on a fragile self-concept so she can grasp the reality that she is who You say she is. Open her eyes and encourage her to live and move in the truth of your Word.
