Waiting On God

It seems like she was always waiting on God. Waiting for promises to be kept. Waiting for healing and restoration. Waiting for direction.

As many times over the years as she’d had to wait, she should have been good at it by now. And as many times over the years the waiting had been rewarded, she should have been at peace with it by now.

But still she struggled when faced with another wait. Like the one today.

She was thinking about it as she drove into her driveway. Wishing she didn’t have to wait, and feeling frustrated that she did.

Then she saw her dogs in the front window. They were sitting up on the sofa, looking out the window and waiting on her return. They were not frustrated. They were not angry. They were not depressed. They were just sitting and waiting, confident that she would return.

That’s how I going to wait, she thought. I will be like a dog in the window, watching expectantly no matter how long it takes!

I want everyone to think about this, dog is god spelt backwards. now a dog is noted as mans best friend, and the most awesome thing with owning a dog is no matter how you treat a dog that dog will always love you and always forgive you. we know that God will always love us and forgives us, I have a german shepard and a husky both girls when they are bad I discipline them without hitting them of course, they learn much better showing love to them. and does God show us the same way the bible tells us He chastens those He loves. just as dogs wait for us after waiting for us to return, God awaits for us to return back Home with him, we love God and waiting on Him to return to us and us to Him, owning dogs and seeing their excitement when they see us return to them should show us an example of how we anticipate even more when we wait for God.

    1. Interesting comparisons. God shows us in so many creative ways how He loves us… if only we open our eyes and hearts. Thank you for giving us more to think about.

    1. Matthew I agree, I have been seeing the same pattern in blogs I have been reading. Wait, trust God, rely on Him for strength to face the monster. God is working, and then I look around me, talking to people reaching out I see satan out working too. We defentaly are in a battle right now!

    1. I love their excitement, too. I wonder how excited we get when God comes near us. And if He enjoys our excitement as much as we enjoy our pets’ excitement. This is something I’m going to think more about.
